Pell City Marketplace has been a retail staple in the Pell City, AL community for over 25 years. Originally developed for Kmart and Winn Dixie, this 160,000 SF center declined over the years due to an undercapitalized ownership group and the decline of Kmart as an anchor tenant. When it was purchased by Anchor in late 2016, Kmart was drawing minimal traffic to the center due to the declining nature of that company as a whole. We bought the center with the game plan of redeveloping the Kmart into a better line up of tenants thus bringing more traffic and business to the center. After an extensive renovation, we have now entered into long-term leases with Tractor Supply, Bargain Hunt, Fresh Value and Martin's who have breathed new life into the center. The center is once again vibrant and tenants have reported very strong sales increases. Anchor is proud that it has been able to reestablish Pell City Marketplace as one of the top centers in this market.
