5301 Hickory Hollow Parkway has been a retail staple in the Antioch, TN community since 1984. Originally built for Service Merchandise, the center had been redeveloped for Bed Bath & Beyond, Casual Male and Office Depot in the 2000s. Only the first two tenants were still in place at the 60,000 SF center when it was purchased by Anchor in April 2016. We were able to buy the center for a discounted value due to Bed Bath’s expiring lease and the REIT that owned it wanting out of the asset. Shortly after its purchase, Anchor repositioned the vacancy in the center by signing a long-term lease with Bargain Hunt thus taking the center to a 100% occupancy rate. In early 2017, we replaced Bed Bath with Ashley Furniture, which had been our game plan since purchasing the center. Anchor is proud that we were early in the revival of retail interest in Antioch’s Hickory Hollow area and have played a role in its turnaround.
